@sweetsweatyfeet The problem is that the evidence is ALL Around you.. If you go out to disprove the existence of God, You will find the evidence overwhelming. Your pretense of the Negative is in error. Two lawyers are needed in a court argument when it comes to defense and prosecution. You made a claim when you stated there is NO GOD. Make your claim.. I did the same and I think you will be Miraculously suprised.
@jfitguru08 Lets apply your argument to every claim for anything supernatural. Should I then grant plausibility to any theory anyone postulates? Do YOU grant the same consideration for thousands of existing “god” concepts that are different than your Christian god? There is no limit to the speculations and projections the human mind is capable of to explain what they don’t know. The only rational approach is to cast skepticism on all unproven theories until they are validated by sound evidence.
Incidentally, as an atheist I make no claim, only a response of no belief to the initial claim for the existence of something unproven and untestable. In court of law a person is deemed not guilty until proven guilty, so it goes with any of thousands of god theories–also unproven (and not to be believed) until it is proven. Now, I NEVER said–”I know 100% there is no god”—that would be claiming knowledge I don’t have. I claim only the default position of no belief for lack of evidence.
Christians may well claim to “see” evidence for their christian god just as theists of every persuasion see evidence for their own particular gods. But this is simply because the theist’s belief system has imparted in them a strong desire to want their god to exist. This in turn distorts the thinking process and perception of reality. Theists are simply projecting (by desire) an easy answer for what they do not know–and it is no answer for it explains nothing–it’s just a cop-out.
@sweetsweatyfeet No I dont think you should grant pluasibillty to ANY theory only ones that 1. You jump on and make a claim against 2. possiblity or even a notion of making a life changing impact on either you or those around you. Casting skepticism is a way of coping out and saying, ” I just choose not to believe and no I wont research”. That is an easy way out.. But lets just say, if, IF eternal life is TRULY at stake, wouldnt it be prudent on your part to investigate DEEPLY?
@sweetsweatyfeet
Interesting. You made many assertions, but yet you gave no scientific proof of your claims.
@sweetsweatyfeet
The “no belief for lack of evidence” argument is just spin. You Atheists believe if you word your sentences correctly, you have nothing to prove. If this is true, you should only say that you see no evidence for God. Instead, you make all sorts of assertions and then attempt to fall back on the “lack of evidence” spin as if nobody noticed the claims you just made.
@XXXFirebird76XXX @XXXFirebird76XXX Not only is “no belief for lack of evidence” NOT spin, it’s the very premise of the atheist position. It’s also one of the rudimentary principles of logic. If a theory, claim or speculation is not followed up with evidence to validate it, the only valid default position is disbelief. In fact the entire ‘scientific method’ is predicated on this. God is not for the atheist to disprove when it has never be demonstrably shown to exist.
@sweetsweatyfeet The classic (not hard core) atheist position makes no claims about the existence of god. I have never asserted—-I know for a fact there is no god. For one thing I don’t possess absolute knowledge and if I ever made such an assertion I would be closing myself to the possibility of evidence should it ever present itself. This would betray the very premise of evidence driven atheism which is the only kind I support.
@sweetsweatyfeet
Ok then, their are a few things I’d like you to PROVE to me with the scientific method. First, prove that I exists outside of your mind. Second, prove that value exists. Third, prove the beauty exists. Fourth, prove that logical truths exist. Fifth, prove that mathematical truths exist.
@sweetsweatyfeet
An absence of belief is nothing. It is not a position, view, perspective, point of view, belief, or anything else. It is not something of substance. And yet you still talk about a Christian’s belief as if you know something they don’t.
What’s next–asking me to prove gravity? or that twice two is four? Your questions translate into–how do we validate knowledge? Take a damn course in epistemology or even science–the short answer is evidence of the senses, testability, repeatability and others. But I don’t really think you’re interested–you’re just trying to fuck with me in order to evade the question of theistic belief. I’m wise to your attempts at intimatation with your annoying little mind games and I won’t play them.
@sweetsweatyfeet
I’m not evading the question. I’m just trying to keep you in line with your own standards.
I understand what he means because there is this ever struggle. He doesn’t know about his salvation though because of his calvinism somone should have him explained the differance between being saved and being not saved if he wonders about his salvation it is because he has lost it before and when he repented gained it back and he did not understand because of his calvinistic belief the he will only be saved if he does all of the things in order to be the elect (which is a sad and evil doctrine)
Thanks Paul, you led me to Christ brother. Keep the Word coming.
3:03 very very true.
…I folow JESUS CHRIST!
@sweetsweatyfeet If you know, why are you talking about God? :-/
You’re contradicting yourself… if you knew, you’d live your life relating to stuff that doesn’t include or talk about Him.
Honest truth
Blessing and love to Paul washer,let every Demon people that get offended repent of there sins and turn to Jesus Christ the way the truth and life.Thank God for a real man of God
I share in the same concerns as you Paul. And agree whole heartly to let the Lord be your main teacher as he has told us that he would send us when we have received him as our Lord and Saviour
I don’t know much about Paul Washer. I’m a little concerned when he said that when the students visiting him in Peru were praying for his salvation when they left.
@strech7951 Your comment was like a breath of fresh air in a stale room. It was a like a beam of light in a dark damp dungeon. I think that is how a Christian is supposed to think. We get hit by Satan pretty hard and he kicks my butt, I’ll admit it. And I’m no one and no threat to him. I don’t even want to imagine how hard he hits those like Dr. Chuck Missler, Pastor John Hagee, and the rest. Thanks for making that comment.
I’d like to see a follow-up video answering the question: ” Is it possible to love the preaching of Joel Osteen, Benny Hinn, Paula White, Juanita Bynum and be saved?
Im am guilty of this…Lord forgive me and have mercy on my soul
